Smart Gardener is set up so that you create a new garden for each growing season of the year. This allows you to easily keep records of your garden from each growing season, while keeping your current garden fresh and easy to work in.
Here are the steps for creating a new garden for the upcoming growing season:
1. Go to your PLAN and Lock any perennials or plants that you'd like to remain in place for your next season's garden. When you lock the plant into your garden, you'll be able to start next season's garden with the plant already in the same location, and the planting date will also transfer into your next garden so that Smart Gardener knows which To Dos to send you for that plant.
2. Click the add garden button (+) under the Account pulldown in the upper right of any page (except PLAN) to create your new garden.
3. Select a garden to be transitioned into the next growing season under the "Copy a Garden" pulldown:
4. Make sure to select the appropriate year and season for your garden. and also check the boxes next to "Copy layout" and "Copy only locked plants" if you'd like those options for your new garden:
Click the "Save" button and you will be ready to start planning your next season's garden!
