Whether you’re transitioning from the lush growth of summer to the cooler days of autumn or preparing for the burst of life that comes with spring, our tools and tips will guide you through the process. Here are the steps for creating a new garden for the upcoming growing season:

Step 1: Access Create New Garden Form

Log in to your Smart Gardener account and click the Create New Garden (+) button under the Account dropdown in the upper right of any page (except PLAN) to create your new garden.

Step 2: Replicate Current Garden for Next Season

Select a garden to be transitioned into the next growing season under the "Copy a Garden" dropdown:

Step 3: Customize Your New Garden

Make sure to select the appropriate year and season for your garden, and also check the boxes next to "Copy layout" and "Copy only locked plants" if you'd like those options for your new garden.

Step 4: Start Planning Your Next Season's Garden

Click the "Save" button and you will be ready to start planning your next season's garden!

Note: Lock any perennials or plants that you'd like to remain in place for your next season's garden. This ensures they stay put in your plan and Smart Gardener remembers their planting date, sending you relevant reminders come next year.
